I am so so sorry for your loss. As you know I went to visit him at St Pat's on Christmas Eve. We talked about a lot of things, for a couple of hours. We talked about silly things, old class memories, health issues- how he felt like he should be taking care of his Mom instead of the other way around and his chest puffed up with pride when he spoke of Barry not being happy with the care he got during a previous hospital stay in NOLA. But when I told him I needed to go as I could see he was getting tired...it got REAL! He told me of not being afraid, that God wasn't quite through with him yet and that he was standing on the promises of the Bible. The Bible was right there at his side, and on his cell phone. He looked lovingly at the large potted tree his church had sent...KF Pentecostal Church, and spoke of the friend that had decorated it. He shared that his Bible and his prayers got him through everything he went through and that he was ready for whatever The Lord had in store for him. It was a powerful testimony and a Christmas Eve visit I will never forget. I am sorry for your loss. He was a great friend to me. Love, KB
