Kinder- Reverend Wade Lormand, 76, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was a native of Kinder and Evangeline and was a resident of Many at the time of his passing. He will be remembered by his ministry as a Pentecostal Preacher for over 50 years and the music he enjoyed to play and listen. He also built many churches during his ministry. Other hobbies he enjoyed include fishing, traveling, and motorcycles. Brother Wade will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen Lormand of Many; six children, Jonette Louviere and husband Bryan of Roanoke, Paula LeJeune and husband, Pastor Clifton of Jennings, Trudy McKenzie of Welsh, Terri Romero and husband Shane of Welsh, Laura Guinn and husband Thomas of Jennings, and Aaron Desormeaux of Lafayette; two step-children, Stanley Cook and wife Kim of Many, Wendall Cook and wife Tracy all of Pearland, TX; brother, Edgar Lormand and wife Linda of Kinder; sister, Glenda Baldwin and husband Pete of Austin, TX; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Mary Lormand and sister, Shirley Ann Nevils.
Funeral service will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2PM at Kingsfarm Pentecostal Church. Rev. Steve Haymon, Rev. A.A. Haymon Jr., and Rev. Phillip North will officiate. Burial will follow in Jessie Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Kingston and Rev. Ebarb officiating. Visitation will begin Sunday at Kingsfarm Pentecostal Church from 4PM-9PM and will continue Monday from 9AM until time of service.
