I met Joanie in the summer of 1979 when we were college students working at AstroWorld. At various points during those 2 summers, Norma Hebert, Theresa Ashy, Carla LeJeune, Joanie and I all roomed together in Houston. Those were memorable, fun days. I pray that Joanie experiences God’s grace and that her family finds comfort and healing. I hope Joanie feels the heart-felt love I’m sending her, even if it’s from a distance.

I was very saddened to hear of Joanie passing away. I have many great memories of my times spent with Joanie when we were young. I spent a lot of time at her house. She was a kind and sweet person. My prayers go out to the family.

Me my mom Rose Bertrand was her baby sitter Joanie was always there for us if we needed help back then. I seen her at my mom's service in November when I asked her how her kids were doing I could hear the pride in her voice as she talked about her kids I'm praying for her kids Austin,Erin & Drew I love y'all.

My mom Rosella Bertrand was her baby sitter for many years mom loved her and her three children I even spoke with Joanie at moms celebration of life service in November she was a kind and sweet person she will be missed

Joanie was indeed a kind soul!!! As Social Workers, at times we take on the weight of the world, but she did it with a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed!!! Until we meet again Joanie… I love you!❤️
