Captain Harmon was an amazing man, leader and friend. He will truly be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. I told him all through his years as AW, Warden & RD that he'll always be Captain Harmon to me & he was fine with that. He was always just an email, text or phone call away and always had time for staff. May he rest in peace, and may we all cherish the time he spent with each of us. FCI Greenville is a better place because of him.

Mr. Harmon I’ll forever remember our talks about being a leader (sometimes you’re the BUG sometimes you’re the windshield). You were the true definition of A Leader who pulled others up as he climbed. Your time at USP Atlanta was not long but created a shift in the atmosphere that will forever be remembered. I often wondered how a man in such a little frame packed so much power and respect! Thanks for being a great example in this agency! You can never be replaced. Rest Easy D.J.

Darrin has been a valid part of our BOP family. He was a an inspiring human who lead with humor and care. I will never forget working with him and knowing what a great person he was. As we grow in this agency it is hard to accept saying goodbye to someone as fun loving and dedicated as Darrin. My prayers go out to all of you as you morn his passing and celebrate his existence. He has touched so many lives throughout his career. As the Warden of FCC Beaumont, I can honestly say his loss has impacted all the staff here. He will be missed as he was loved by so many. May God help you through this sad time, and let me say thank you for sharing Darrin with us, his Bureau family, and allowing us to know the greatness within him. He will be greatly missed. God Bless.

I was introduced to Darrin & Lisa through my sister in Dallas over 10 years ago. I would travel from Atlanta to Dallas for frequent visits to visit my sister and family, my sister would have family gatherings and Darrin , and Lisa would attend. Darrin, and I nourished a Big brother /Lil brother relationship immediately, I guess it was because we love people and love making people laugh. After I left and went back to Atlanta, Darrin would often call me from a unknown number just to play a joke on me to trick me in disguising who he was, even several minutes into the conversation, at times he wouldn’t even expose his identity just leave me there wondering (who was that) and hang up, just to call later and say “ahhhhh I gotcha”. Darrin, I will forever miss those moments of playing “Spades” and you and I talking trash to each even as a spectator.....Darrin, you have brought so many laughter and smiles to so many . I know that you are looking down smiling on us today. Rest on Big Brother ...... I will forever cherish the spade table battles and miss those gotcha calls . I love you. Lisa, I will forever keep you in my heart and prayers, and we are here , I love you

I met him when he came to FCC Beaumont as our AW. I remember how much he enjoyed messing up my first name. Although he knew the right pronouncetion, he loved messing it up to get a rise out of me. First I want to offer sincere condolences to the Harmon family. DJ Harmon came to Atlanta during a time when morale was at its lowest. He brought a personality to Atlanta never seen before in a Warden that uplifted all those around him. He was very personable and enjoyed having a great time and seeing all have a good. He loved to cook and serve the staff under his leadership. I am grateful that he gave me the opportunity to move to a new position that I have enjoyed but also let’s me spend time with my family. DJ Harmon shared a lot of knowledge and wisdom that I will never forget. He also would take time to listen and take in what you had to offer to the conversation. He will always be remembered as one of the best to ever do it at USP Atlanta. I will never forget Mr. DJ Harmon. RIP and rest easy until we see each other again.

My friend Darrin, you will be truly missed. You coined the neighborhood “Choir Group” in Midlothian, TX. and you spot in the choir group will always be there. We came together because of you and we continue to gather because of you. You were always willing to give the shirt off your back to help some in need and I thank you for that. You brought us laughter and joy that will never be forgotten. Your pranks are “ no question” the best that I have seen and your support for America’s Team is authentic. Rest In Peace mi hermano.

Mr. Harmon was blessing to anyone that he encountered, he was a humble man. I remember the first time I was introduced to him in Denver when I was in training, in a few years later he became my Warden USP Atlanta. He came to Atlanta changed the morale and staff fell in love with his leadership willingness to listen and take care of his staff. The BOP lost a lifeline on June 16, 2020, no one will ever be able to replace him. He will truly be missed by myself and many others. To Lisa and the rest of his family thank you for allowing him to bless us with his presence and sense of humor. I can imagine at the pearly gates saying Deez you know what upon entry. I appreciate his leadership, and I considered him more than just a supervisor he was a friend and father figure to me. Rest in heaven my friend, I know you got them going nuts up there.

In my journey called life I find I am often spun around in a tailspin of grief and loss. And in the blurriness of my tears and pain is a clear vision of someone that has IMPACTED my life in such a way that words cannot explain. Darrin Harmon was and remains a mentor, a father, a brother, and a friend to me. His IMPACT left me with a road map...a plan with lessons to strive for excellence, to be loyal, to extend love, and to build the family. His treasures blessed me and my family immeasurably. His antics made us laugh, his charismatic personality and wisdom praised and sharpened me, his love for life and people inspired me to reach for the stars and not fear the road I have yet to travel. Your big heart showed love of a brother for my husband. Your kind fatherly love for my baby girl remains in her ♡. We are heartbroken to have lost a beautiful soul, but we praise the Lord for removing all the pain and sickness. Lisa we love you...Fly High D.
