Obituary of Tommy Hugh Evans

Tommy H. Evans August 20, 1947 October 30, 2015 Kinder- Tommy H. Evans, 68, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and lifelong resident of Kinder. He was a faithful member of Hebron Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for many years. Tommy was a retired heavy equipment operator and he served our country during the Vietnam War with the Army 101st Airborne. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Tommy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 45 years, Judy Evans; three daughters, Rebekah Ogea and husband David of Kinder, Melissa Deshotel and husband Terrell of Kinder, Amanda Evans of Lake Charles; brother, Robby Evans and wife Karin of Kinder; sister, Judy Dowies and husband Don of Grant; sister-in-law, Karen Evans of Kinder; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Dugas, Andrew LaFleur, Abigail Ogea, Libbie LaFleur, Cole Ogea; 2 step-grandchildren, Garrett and Rylee Desotel; great granddaughter, Rosaleigh Dugas. Preceded in death by his parents, Rev. H.H. “Rusty” Evans and Jeanette Evans; brother, Harold Evans. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 2PM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Kevin Willis and Rev. John Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, November 2, 2015 at Reed Funeral Home from 10AM-9PM and will continue Tuesday from 8AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
