Obituary of Donald Ray Vickers

Donald Ray Vickers September 19, 1955 September 16, 2015 Kinder- Mr. Donald Ray Vickers, 59, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. He was a native and resident of Kinder. Donald enjoyed listening to music, especially music from the seventies and watching country western movies. He will be missed by who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Samantha Vickers and companion Jobie of Kinder; significant other, Sherryl Vickers of Kinder; grandson, Terence Vickers of Kinder; six brothers, Melvin Vickers of Ragley, Curley Vickers of Lake Charles, Minister James Vickers of Kinder, Roland Vickers of Lake Charles, Fred Vickers, and Greg Vickers of Kinder. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Clara Vickers. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11AM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Pastor Arnold Wyckoff and Minister James Vickers Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday from 5PM-9PM with a rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8AM until time of service. Donald suffered a long battle with diabetes and for the past three years his health deteriorated. At this time Sam and Sherryl became his caregivers moving him into their home. They would like to say a special thank you to his brothers, Melvin and Minister James for praying with him every day and assisting with his care.
