Obituary of Evelyn Bertrand

Kinder- Mrs. Evelyn Bertrand, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Basile but lived most of her life in Kinder. Mrs. Evelyn was a faithful member of LeBlanc Pentecostal Church for the past few years and was a faithful member of Kinder UPC/Grace Community for many years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking but most of all, she loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her five children; Reggie Bertrand and wife Becky of Kinder; Richard Bertrand and wife Mickie of LeBlanc; Christine Cooper and husband Donnie of Indian Village; Ray Bertrand and wife Laura of Kinder; Harlin Hilton Bertrand Jr. and Stephanie of Kinder; three siblings, Ethel LeBlanc of Ragley, Yvonne Miller of LeBleu Settlement, and Mike Leger of Kinder; 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Hilton Bertrand Sr.; parents, Alfred and Lucia Leger; granddaughter, Mickella Fontenot; great grandson, Jashaan Fontenot. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 10AM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Alfred Gibson and Rev. Rod Nesmith will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery.
