Obituary of Huey P. Cooley

Huey P. Cooley April 5, 1930 July 14, 2015 Mittie- Mr. Huey P. Cooley, 85, passed away Monday, July 14, 2015. He was a native and lifelong resident of Mittie. Mr. Cooley was a retired game warden in the game division of Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries serving the West Bay game reserve for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting deer, duck, and turkey. Mr. Cooley was a loving and devoted husband and a faithful member of The Pentecostals of Mittie. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 35 years, Bonnie Cooley; three step-daughters, Sandra Benoit of Wichita Falls, TX, Crystal Kohler of Joplin, MO, and Kimberly Haines of Washougal, WA; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son, Timothy Cooley; parents, Eddie and Louvenia Cooley; two brothers, Melton Cooley and Clyde Cooley. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2PM at The Pentecostals of Mittie. Rev. J.R. Dowden will officiate. Burial will follow in Simmons Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will begin Thursday from 12noon until time of service.
