Obituary of Dolores Fontenot

Dolores “DeeDee” Fontenot May 8, 1949 July 3, 2015 Kinder- Dolores “DeeDee” Fontenot, 66, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Kinder. DeeDee earned her master’s degree in education, but loved to volunteer and substitute for Kinder High for over 20 years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her son, Greg Fontenot of Kinder; two brothers, John Reeves Jr. and Stephen Reeves both of Hathaway; three sisters, Lola Louviere, Gertrude Myers, and Winona Menard all of Hathaway. Preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Fontenot; son, Bryan Fontenot; parents, John and Esther Reeves; two brothers, David Reeves and William Reeves. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 10AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday at Reed Funeral Home from 2PM-9PM with a vigil service at 6PM and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Monday at 8AM until time of service.
