Obituary of Yvonne Bond Reed

Yvonne Bond Reed August 10, 1939 June 29, 2015 Oakdale- Mrs. Yvonne Bond Reed, 75, entered eternal rest on Monday June 29, 2015 at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bond community in Oakdale where she lived all of her life. She was a faithful member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church where she served in various roles and committees, including Sunday school and BYW teacher, office worker, choir member and supported her husband’s chalk talk ministry. She loved listening to southern gospel music. She was devoted to the care of her husband, his businesses, her children, extended family and home. She taught her children about God, His word and prayer. She kept an open door and blessed others through her cooking, baking and fudge-making. She loved giving gifts and ministering to the elderly, needy and hurting. She exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman and leaves a legacy of faithfulness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rene Reed; Parents, Ellis and Amy Bond; 2 brothers, Ray Bond and Jack Bond; 3 sisters, Naomi Turner, Dorothy Ardoin, and Catherine Prestwood. She is survived by three sons, Philip Reed of Kinder, Mark Reed of Oakdale, and Paul Reed of Clanton, Alabama; one daughter, Patti and her husband Greg Johnson of Seneca, SC; one brother, Robert Bond of Oakdale; 15 grandchildren, Arielle Reed, Lauren, Allison, Michael, Kaitlyn, David, Nicholas, Chloe, Danielle, and Matthew Johnson, Lelia “Lily” and Joseph Reed, Kayla, Kelly, and Madison Reed; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2PM at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Bond. Rev. Hardy Estes and Rev. Kenny Blackwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Bond Cemetery in Oakdale under the direction of Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will begin Wednesday at Mt.
