Obituary of Bernice B. Brown

Bernice B. Brown October 23, 1925 June 25, 2015 Kinder- Bernice B. Brown, 89, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Center, TX, and a resident of Lake Charles since 1946 before moving to Kinder 24 years ago. Bernice formally attended Moss Bluff First Baptist Church and is currently a member of Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Her favorite past time was being with her family and making sure each one had their own special dish and teaching her grandchildren how to fish. Bernice will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include three children; Oliver Ray Brown Jr. and wife Brenda of Lake Charles, Becky Savant and husband Wade of Kinder, Brenda Chaffin and husband Jessie of Kinder; two sisters, Mavis Peyton of Rosharon, TX and Kathy Canady of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Ray Brown Sr.; grandson, Kenny Chaffin; two brothers, Darrell Brittain and Gene Brittain; sister, Bea Ward. Funeral Service will be held Saturday June 27, 2015 at 10AM at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin Friday at Reed Funeral Home from 5PM-8PM and will continue Saturday at Indian Village Pentecostal Church at 8AM until time of service.
