Obituary of Dempsey Clinton Rion Jr.

Dempsey C. Rion Jr. February 6, 1941 April 2, 2015 Reeves- D. C. Rion Jr. passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015. He was a resident of Reeves, Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 0401, a member of Open Door Baptist Church and most of all a faithful servant for the Lord. D.C. was a hard working and faithful friend to all. He was known for his enthusiasm and diligence to get the job done. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, JoAnne Miller Rion; four children, Jeremy Rion and wife Sharon of Reeves, Roxanne Doyle and husband Allen of LeBlanc, Christine Phillips and husband Rodney of Fayetteville, N.C., Penny Fontenot and husband Brian of Reeves; three sisters, Betty Cooley of Lake Charles, Billie Hoffpauir of Reeves, and Beverly Baker of Clanton, Alabama; brother, Roger Rion of Prosper, TX; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one great grandson. Funeral service will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Ethel Green Chapel at Camp Pearl. Rev. Don Barrett and Rev. Sonny Simpson will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Creel Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday at Reed Funeral Home from 4PM-9PM and will continue Tuesday at 8AM at the Ethel Green Chapel until time of service.
