Obituary of Rose Scully

Kinder- Rose Marie Santoro Scully, 64, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012. She was born in Lake Charles and was a resident of Kinder. Mrs. Rose Scully graduated from Lake Charles High School and moved to Kinder in 1992. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, a member and Regent of the Catholic Daughters and a Sacristan. She also worked for the Kinder Courier News and was the housekeeper and cook for St. Philip Neri Catholic Church for the past 12 years. Mrs. Rose helped with the cancer support at church and helped with Reach for Recovery and Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Anthony Scully and wife Sonia, James Joseph Scully; two step-sons, Owen T. Scully Jr. and wife Beth, Rawlen J. Scully and wife Karol; four step-daughters, Ann Williams and husband Ronald, Bonnie Scoggins, Connie Foreman and husband R.J., and Sheri Daigle; 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Daniel, Dru, and Sophia Scully; 22 Step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Owen T. Scully Sr.; parents, Tony and Alice Santoro. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 11AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Carlos Garcia, Father Keith Pellerin, and Deacon Roy Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at Reed Funeral Home Tuesday from 3PM-9PM with a rosary at 6PM and a vigil service at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8AM until time of service.
