Obituary of Edwin Fontenot

Edwin Joseph Fontenot December 26, 1926 September 22, 2013 Kinder- Mr. Edwin Joseph Fontenot, 86, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013. He was born December 26, 1926 to Alcede and Valentine Fontenot and was a lifelong resident of Kinder. Mr. Fontenot was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War and he retired from Gifford Hill. He is survived by two children, Francis L. Breaux of California and Connie Matheson and husband Tim of Kinder; 6 grandchildren, Timothy J. Matheson, Kerri Oshefsky, Kristie Whitener, Heather Buller, Ben Breaux, and Rachel Breaux; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Fontenot, parents, one brother, and five sisters. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 1PM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Robert Jordan will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday from 11AM-9PM and will continue Wednesday at 8AM until time of service.
