Obituary of Luther James Savant

Luther James Savant March 7, 1939 January 8, 2022 Kinder– Luther J. Savant, 82, of Kinder, passed away on January 8, 2021. He loved spending time with his family, friends and in his businesses. He is survived by his wife; Gloria Ann Spears Savant of Kinder, LA; Son, John D. Savant, and wife Sarah of Kinder; sisters, Elda Manuel of Oberlin, LA, Linda Whitaker and husband Danny of Kinder LA, Cathy Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren Christian Blair Savant and Taylor Fawvor; step granddaughter Whitney Deaton and 8 great grandchildren. Luther is preceded in death by his son, Paul Savant; parents, William J. Savant and Gladys Fontenot Savant; sister, Vivian Bourque; brother, Alvin Savant. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 2PM in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, LA. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, January 10, 2022, in Reed Funeral Home from 5PM to 8PM, with a vigil followed by a rosary at 6PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 8AM until the time of the service at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, LA.
