Obituary of Dennis N Savant

Dennis N. Savant February 08. 1947 December 31, 2021 Kinder– Dennis N. Savant, 74, of Kinder, passed away on December 31, 2021. He joined the military at a young age and enjoyed his job repairing and testing missiles. Later he went to work as a long-haul driver, driving 18 wheelers across country. Dennis loved visiting and doing God’s work as a devoted man of his faith. He read a lot about his faith, and volunteered his time as a confirmation teacher, being involved in the youth group, Eucharistic minister and lector, recruiter for Our Lady of the Oaks Retreat House. He was a member of A.C.T.S and Knights of Columbus. Dennis witnessed a lot to people in his life – he allowed God’s light to shine through him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son; Patrick Clifford Savant of Kinder, LA, sibling; Melody Dunn and husband James of Kinder, Rhonda Marcantel and husband Bill of Kinder; nephews and nieces, Angela Boyington and husband Chris, Andrea “Sissy” La Fleur and husband Doug, Jeremy Marcantel and wife Colleen, Megan Marcantel; mother of his children Betty Savant of Lake Charles. A host of other family members, friends, Army brothers and A.C.T.S brothers. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; Clifford and Ruth Nevils Savant, son; Jeffery Savant, sister; Gwendolyn Faye Savant. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 11AM in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, LA. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Reed Funeral Home from 6PM to 8PM, with a vigil followed by a rosary at 6PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 8AM until the time of the service at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, LA.
