Obituary of Donald Chambers

Donald W. Chambers February 6, 1950 August 21, 2021 Donald Wayne Chambers, 71, of LeBlanc, LA, passed away on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, from a long battle with PSP. He was born on February 6th, 1950, in Lorain, OH to Cecil E Chambers of Cottageville, WV and Ruth Doucet Chambers of Oakdale, LA. Don was married to his wife, Elizabeth Ann Parchman Chambers, of Lake Charles, LA, for almost 51yrs and was a wonderful father to his only child, Cheri’ Jolene Chambers of LeBlanc, LA. He was a member of the International Ironworkers Union for over 30yrs but was a carpenter at heart all his life. Don was a quiet man but was a wealth of knowledge to all his siblings and brother Ironworkers and would help anyone when he could. He loved motorcycles, enjoyed working on them as well as riding but his pride and joy was his 1968 red convertible Chevy Impala that he restored after retiring. Don is survived by his spouse, Liz; his daughter, Cheri’; 7 siblings, Gayle Carrier, and husband, Ronnie of Moss Bluff, LA; Cecil L Chambers, and wife, Rita of Rogersville, TN; Clara Chambers Fontenot, and husband, Hamon of Kinder, LA; David G Chambers, and wife, Marjie of Lake Charles, LA; Frank E Chambers, and wife, Donna of LeBlanc, LA; Felicia (Faye) Arabie, and husband, Mitch of Kinder, LA; Adam (Cornell) Chambers, and wife, Leslie of Hammond, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends, he was truly blessed. He is preceded in death by all his Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, his mother and father, Cecil and Ruth and his sister, Rebecca (Becky) Chambers. The family would like to express their gratitude towards Heart of Hospice for their compassion and care during Don’s illness, with special thanks to his care giving aid, Kim and nurse, Christie. We couldn’t have done it without them. There will be an open house Celebration of Life Memorial held at Reed Funeral Home, located at 315 N 14th St in Kinder, LA, on September 11th, 2021, from 1pm to 4pm. Cheri’ and I hope you will join us to celebrate a life well lived.
