Obituary of Louella Marcantel

Louella LaFleur Marcantel February 3, 1940 – July 5, 2021 Kinder – Louella Marcantel, 81, of Kinder passed away surrounded by family on Monday, July 5, 2021. Ms. Louella will be remembered and cherished as genuine caregiver and friend to those who knew her. She enjoyed spending her time staying active by walking, sewing, cooking, baking, and was an avid reader. She was always one to lend a helping hand to those who needed. Ms. Louella raised seven children with her late husband Higney Marcantel in Kinder, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Clara Fontenot and JB Fontenot of Kinder, LA; Ricky and Angie Marcantel of Kinder, LA; Mike Marcantel of Elton, LA; and Missy Marcantel of Eunice, LA; Brothers Cecil and Barbara LaFleur of Kinder, LA and Kurt and Gina LaFleur of Kinder, LA; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Ms. Louella will truly be missed. Ms. Louella is preceded in death by her parents Lessie Soileau LaFleur and Norris LeFleur of Kinder, LA; her late ex-husband Higney Marcantel of Elton, LA, three sons Brian Marcantel, Greg Marcantel, and Gary Marcantel; grandson Matthew Marcantel; and sister Jeanette Prejean. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 10 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, LA; internment to follow at Liberty Cemetery in Elton, LA. Visitation will be held Tuesday July 6th, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home from 4 PM – 8 PM with a vigil at 6 PM followed with a Rosary; and Wednesday July 6th, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home at 8 AM until 9:30 AM.
