I'm so sorry to hear of Andy's passing. He and I had been friends for 11 years having met when he worked for a hotel and I popped in as a guest one evening. He was always sweet, kind, and would do anything in the world for anyone who needed it. It wasn't unusual for the two of us not to talk often for one reason or another (usually due to him not having cell reception where he lived), but when we did, it was as if we had been talking every day. I discovered his passing accidentally as I was Googling his name and the road he lived on in Lake Charles to see if I could get his house number so that I could send him a card or letter to get back in touch as it had been too long since I had heard from him. I am devastated by the news. I'll miss him greatly.

So sorry to hear about the death of Andy. He worked for me when I was administrator of Kinder Nursing Home while he was still in high school if my memory serves me correctly. I have often thought of him and wondered where life had taken him. Andy was a great worker, one of the best that I had working for me. His co-workers held him in high esteem even though he was just a young man working after school. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it. The residents loved him and they as well as co-workers referred to him as our "Little Andy." I just wish there were more like Andy working the nursing homes today, someone with a love and compassion for the elderly. My condolences go out to his family. May God provide you with peace at this time of your sorrow.

Andy once said to me, "Don't let the hatred of ignorant people kill your compassion and love for life. They either will embrace you or they will fade away from your life. Being different is an extraordinary attribute, and in my experience, made my love and compassion grow." This will always stay with me. He was a very wise and loving soul.

I am so sorry I can't be there with you all during this heart breaking time. His contagious laughter is going to be missed greatly but it will remain in our minds and our hearts. I'm going to miss him and I know there is a huge hole left in your hearts now. I am praying for you all and asking our Heavenly Father to wrap you up in His big arms of comfort for truly He is the only comfort we can have for now. I love you all. Susie Lafferty-Sisco
