Kinder- Bobbie “Bob” Flanagan, 73, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021. Mr. Bobbie was a resident of Kinder, LA. He was born to Bobbie Flanagan, Sr. and Rilla Mae Mickens Flanagan, August 28, 1947 in Beaumont Texas. He attended Charlton Pollard School in Beaumont, TX and graduated in 1965. In 1966, Bob met and married Bertha Mae Botley Flanagan. To this union, one daughter was born, Darla Denise. In 1967, he began working for Zale’s, as a Promotional Marketer. While in this career he had the opportunity of meeting James Brown, Stevie Wonder among others. Bob moved to Los Angeles, California in 1974 and later moved to Kinder, La where he reunited with his family. After settling in Kinder La, Bobs Carpet Cleaning was birth and served the community of Kinder and the surrounding areas until his departure. Bob enjoyed his family and he never met a stranger, always with a kind smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie(Rilla) Flanagan Sr.; daughter, Elaine Edwards; grandson, Jeremy Edwards; step-sisters, Lois Daniels, Betty Walters and God-sister Gwendolyn Jean Lewis.
Bob departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Darla Kirklin (Rudell)of Kinder, LA; step-children, Dionne Goodly of Lake Charles, LA; Shawn Goodly (Rhonda) of Lake Charles, LA; Sharla Epps (Tim) of Kinder, La. One sister, Ruth Lynette Thompson (Roosevelt) of Rasharon, TX ; one brother, Carroll Hall (Bethany) of Salem, OR, god-children; Queen E. Cassimere, Ariana Harmon, Nathanial, Jeremy and Natasha Edwards, 8 grandkids, 8 step-grandkids and a host of great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral Service will be held at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder at 11 AM on Thursday, April 1, 2021 with Pastor Jimmy Joseph Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Botley Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9AM on Thursday, April 1, 2021 until the time of the service.
Face mask are required at the funeral home during services and visitations.
