Kinder – Larry Johnson, 71, passed away January 11, 2021. Larry Johnson was born to Samuel and Lorene Johnson in Powhatan, LA. Larry was very dedicated to the Lord. He was a devoted husband, father and brother. He was a very audit grandfather and showed everyone love in teaching us how to love; he had a great patience. If you ever met him once, you would have known him a life time. He loved to hunt with his beagles, fish, cooked for his family and enjoyed time with his beloved grand kids. He worked all his life and worked hard for his family.
Brother Larry Johnson was a faithful member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Deridder. After his marriage to Beverly Captain he joined her at Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ in Deridder. Then in 2010 after their move to Kinder joined the newly organized beloved; Ministries Church of God in Christ under patronage of Eld. David Iles. He was later appointed to serve as Deacon and Sunday school teacher. Brother Larry said the Lord told him to prepare dinner for the pastor and wife on Sunday which he and his wife did faithfully. He loved his pastor and wife; out of his own resources he gave them an envelope each week with gas money. He was also a great encourager for the Children’s Ministry and shared his wisdom and experience every third Sunday, until his health declined. Brother Larry as he was known was dearly loved by all and will be dearly missed.
