Obituary of L.V. Marcantel

L.V. Marcantel October 4, 1935 December 20, 2020 Kinder- L.V. Marcantel, 85, lost his fight of 4 years with IPF on December 20, 2020. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and Brother in Arms. He loved his country and was a proud Army Veteran. When he came home from the service he devoted all of his time to his family and friends; fishing, working in the garden, hunting or just simply being the family chauffeur to make sure all of his loved ones got safely to their destination. L.V. will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Gillard Marcantel of 64 years, his 3 beautiful daughters; Tami Faul of Sulphur, LA., Karen Salicos (Tim) of Sulphur, LA., Joni Hall (Raymond) of Kinder, LA., sister; Sis Doumite (Paul) of Kinder, LA., grandchildren; Melanie (Greg) Brady of Moss Bluff, LA., Matthew Real (Tracy) of Lake Charles, LA., Emily, Carly Faul both of Sulphur, LA., Amanda Dofflemyer (Johnathan) of Kinder, LA., Allison Wright (Dalton) of Kinder, LA., and Zac Hall of Kinder, LA. 11 great grandchildren and a host nieces and nephews. L.V is preceded in death by his parents Zemon and Edith Soileau Marcantel, great grandson Abram and 3 son in laws. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with Father Whitney Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Reed Funeral Home; Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 5 PM to 8 PM, with a vigil followed by a rosary at 6 PM.
