Obituary of Sharon Mae LaPoint

Sharon Mae LaPoint June 7, 1959 November 13, 2020 Kinder- On Friday, November 13, 2020, Sharon LaPoint, a loving wife and daughter, passed away at the age of 61. Sharon was born in Colby, Wisconsin on June 7, 1959, to Maria and Bernard “Bernie” Dahlke. She went to St. Mary Catholic School until 1973 then graduated from Colby High School Class of 1977 in Colby Wisconsin. Her free spirit and a motorcycle brought her to our lovely slice of Southwest Louisiana heaven, which she soon called her adopted home. She worked at the Coushatta Casino from January 5, 1995, until August 5, 2010, as a dealer and later a supervisor. From April 2011 until now she used her passion for photography with Digital Dreams. She met Randy LaPoint in 1994 and they were united in marriage on June 10, 2005. They were joined in the eyes of the Lord on May 26, 2019 all of which time she lovingly helped raise six children and later 14 grandchildren. One of her most precious roles was director of Because We Care where she orchestrated a hot meal and bingo for seniors once a month. Sharon was a very family-oriented person who loved the kids and grandkids. Christmas was a special time when Sharon would bring out the Christmas games, get on the floor, and make sure everyone felt special. She was also a member of the St. Philip Neri catholic church and beloved ACTS sister in Christ. She loved the Green Bay Packers like no one else, evidence of which can be found on her Facebook page. Sharon would spar with anyone who said differently. She was part of a group of ladies that played cards once a week-only after the rosary was said. Some of which she is praying and dealing to now. You never saw Sharon without a Mountain Dew straight out the box. Although she did not play much, she was the best washers scorekeeper. You could not pass a point by her. She was a beloved friend to so many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Sharon is preceded in death by her father Bernard Joseph Dahlke. She is survived by her husband Randy Lapoint; children, Jennifer Sayer and husband Scott of Kinder, Amanda Bebee husband Nick of Iowa, Blake LaPoint wife April of Fletcher, North Carolina, Aaron LaPoint, Stephanie LaPoint and Whitney LaPoint all of Basile; mother, Marie Dahlke of Colby WI.; Brothers, DuWayne Dahalke wife Sherry fo Curtiss WI, Demar Dahlke wife Roxanne of Colby WI and 14 grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Whitney Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Monday at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder from 5 PM-8 PM.
