Obituary of Joyce Marie Morehead

Joyce B. Morehead November 13, 1939 September 9, 2020 Kinder - Joyce Marie Ballou Morehead, 80, born in 1939 to the late Clarence and Velma Gallow Ballou Sr. of Welsh, LA. Joyce met and married her husband Percy Morehead, to this union six children were born. She will forever be remembered by her children Wade Morehead, Elva Jay Walker and husband James, Donnie Ray Morehead and wife Shirlene, Rodney Morehead and wife Lorraine, Jessie Morehead, and Jessica Holden and husband Jerry. They had 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. She also had an extended family that she made while working with the Cappel family for over 50 years. There was not a person who she did not know when she seen their faces. She greeted everyone by name and with a sweet caring smile. We’ll always remember that special smile, warm embrace & beautiful presence. She was preceded in death by her husband Percy Morehead, parents Clarence and Velma Gallow Ballou Sr., and brother Clarence Ballou, Jr. Funeral Services will be Saturday September 19, 2020 at 12 PM in Reed Funeral Home with Bishop Rodney Botley officiating. Burial will follow in Botley Cemetery in Kinder, LA. Visitation will begin at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder Saturday September 19, 2020 from 11 AM until time of the service.
