Obituary of Douglas Istre

Douglas Paul Istre Kinder- Mr. Douglas Paul Istre was born October 9, 1938 and passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Kinder. Mr. Istre was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and a retired farmer and Industrial painter. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Loretta Vizena Istre; son, Charles Istre and wife, Candie of Kinder; daughter, Marnette Istre Sortino and husband, Ned of Kinder; brother, L.C. Istre of Pine Island; brother-in-law, Gene Gary of Jennings; grandchildren, Tiffany Clifton, Tara Fontenot, Tabitha Sortino, Kailey Istre, and Kortney Istre; great grandchildren, Carter and Addysen. . Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Istre and sister, Barbara L. Gary. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 9AM at Reed Funeral Home in Kinder. Visitation will be held at Reed Funeral Home Friday from 3PM-9PM with a French Rosary prayed by Deacon John Eaves at 6PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8AM until time of service. Father Carlos Garcia, and Rev. T. L. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Green OakCemetery.
