Obituary of Viola M Fontenot

Kinder- Mrs. Viola Fontenot, 75, of Kinder passed away July 13th, 2020. A resident of Kinder, Mrs. Viola was a teacher’s aid at Kinder Elementary for 29 years. She loved her family, faith, prayer, and was a devote catholic; and shared her love and her faith by teaching CCD. She leaves behind three children, Reginald Paul Fontenot (Latoya), Marshal Jude Fontenot, and Rosemary Fontenot all of Kinder; six grandchildren, Brandon Fontenot, Mariah Fontenot, Marshal Jude Fontenot II, Kristian Fontenot, Cameron Fontenot, and Carmen Sellers; sisters, Leontine LaChapelle of Lake Charles, Joann Simien and husband Albert of Lake Charles; brother Roy Bushnell and wife Jean of Iowa, LA; brothers-in-law; Warren Williams of Kinder, Clarence LaChapelle of Lake Charles; and three Godchildren Jacqueline Orsot, Marilyn (Darrell) Simmions of Lake Charles, LA, and Steve Fruge of Eunice, LA. Proceeded in death by his son, Elton B. Fontenot; her husband of 48 years John Herbert Fontenot and her parents Elton and Eva Bushnell. A public visitation will be held for Mrs. Viola Fontenot on Saturday, July 25th, 2020; at 8 AM- 10:50 AM at Reed Funeral Home, a rosary will be held at 9 AM Saturday, July 25th, 2020, at Reed Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 11AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church; with respect to the guidelines, we ask that only immediate family attend the mass.
