Obituary of Carol Briscoe

Carol Briscoe December 19th, 1946 – January 24th, 2020 Elton – Carol Ann Shuff Briscoe, 73, entered into the gates of Heaven on January 24th, 2020, following a short illness. Carol was born to William and Iona Shuff on December 19th, 1946. She was a graduate of Elton High School, Class of 1965. On May 6th, 1967, Carol married the love of her life John Isaac Briscoe. Carol was selfless, loving, giving, and caring. She always said she lived her life for her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and baker, with a love for canning. Carol was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and participated in the choir. Her faith was strong and she trusted deeply in the Lord. Left to cherish Carol’s memory is her husband of fifty- two years John Briscoe of Elton, LA. Her three children, one son Eric (Sarah) Briscoe, two daughters Malisa (Robbie) Gaspard, and Stephanie (Michael) Benoit. Grandchildren: Jasmine Briscoe, Shelby Briscoe, Amielle Briscoe, Logan Leger, Lexee Leger, Layah Gaspard, Londyn Gaspard, Austyn Benoit, and Taylor Benoit. One great granddaughter Sophia James Andress. Brothers Jacob Shuff, Danny Shuff, Roy Shuff and two sisters Debbie Lafleur and Danita Manuel. She is preceeded in death by her son Mark Anthony Briscoe, grandson Zackary Chase Briscoe. Her parents William and Iona Shuff, brother Wayne Shuff, in-laws Isaac and Lydia Briscoe. Funeral services for Carol will be held Monday, January 27th, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 26th, 2020 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Monday January 27th, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of the service at Reed Funeral Home. The Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday January 26th, 2020, led by Deacon Mike Guillory. Burial will be at Soileau Cemetery following the service.
