Obituary of Wanda LeJeune

Wanda Marie Savoie LeJeune August 21, 1942 – January 4, 2020 Kinder- Wanda Marie Savoie LeJeune, 77, of Elton passed away on January 4, 2020; surrounded by family and friends. Wanda was born on August 21, 1942 to Woodrow and Virginia Savoie. She was wife, mother, memaw, and sister she loved to cook, cross-stitch, put puzzles together, going to the casino, her gardens, and most dearly she loved her flowers. Wanda loved to dance, tell jokes, make people laugh and always had a big smile on her face. Her and husband Phil were active in 4-H sheep livestock with not only their children but many other children as well. Among her many talents and hobbies, Wanda had an enjoyment to can and pickle quail eggs for her and her husband’s business. A business woman indeed, Wanda was a licensed hair dresser and she also worked in many floral shops, where her works of floral art were of high demand. Wanda never met a stranger; she had a deep love for working with the public. Wanda left her mark on this community and will be deeply missed Those left to cherish her memory is her husband Phil LeJeune, of Elton, LA; four sons; Jerry Durbin of Lake Charles, LA; Phil Durbin (Andrea) of Houston, TX; Rocky Durbin (Shylo) of Zypher, TX, and Shane Stanley (Amanda) of Westlake, LA; two step-children Melissa (Glenn) LaFosse of Elton,LA; and Philip Shane (Alecia) LeJeune of Mandeville, LA; and twenty grandchildren and eight-teen great grandchildren. Three brothers, Charles (Phyllis) Savoie of Jennings, LA; Glenn (Kayla) Savoie of Moss Bluff, LA; Ricky (Patty) Savoie of Dayton, TX ; one sister Loretta (Clifford) LaFarge of Kinder, LA; her Aunt Claudia Marchantel and especially her Aunt Rose Cunningham along with numerous nephews, nieces, family & friends. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Virginia Savoie, her grandparents and nephew. Visitation for Wanda will be held Monday January 6th, 2020, from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:30, recited by Decon Mike Tramel at Reed Funeral Home in Kinder, LA, visitation will continue Tuesday January 7th, 2020, at 8:00 until time of service at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Elton, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday January 7th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Jose in Elton, LA. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Care and direction has been entrusted to Reed Funeral Home in Kinder, LA.
