Kinder- Mr. Richard “Ricky” G. Benoit, 75, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Welsh and resident of Kinder. Ricky was owner and operator of Benwa Contractors, retired from Centurytel, and he was an Auxiliary officer for Kinder Police Department. He enjoyed music, playing the drums, fishing for red fish, hunting and woodworking. Ricky loved to barbeque, visit and laugh with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather; brother, and friend. Ricky will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lottie Benoit; seven children, Stephanie Suire and husband Scott of Gueydan, Russell Benoit and wife Doris of Welsh, West Benoit of Welsh, Kelly Deshotel and husband Pat of Welsh, Warren Lovejoy and wife Melissa of Breaux Bridge, Donna Norwood and husband Travis of Sulphur, Theresa Lovejoy of Kinder; loving fur baby , Paco; brother, Allen Benoit and wife Beverly of Thornwell; sister, Mary Beth Benoit of Lake Charles; special friend of Lottie and Ricky, Judy Henderson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Christine Benoit and brother, Russell Benoit.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1PM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Visitation will begin Thursday at Reed Funeral Home from 5PM-8PM with a rosary at 6PM and a prayer service at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue Friday at 8AM until time of service.
