Kinder- Ms. Agnes Lorena Fontenot, 93, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Kinder and a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. Ms. Agnes was devoted to praying the Rosary. She worked at the Gift shop at Coushatta Casino Resort, Vern’s Fashion, Cappel’s Drugstore, baked cakes, cared for children and she enjoyed arts and crafts. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren would often say she was the best grandmother ever! She was devoted to her faith and her family. Agnes was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by many.

She is survived by her six children, Kenneth Wayne Fontenot and wife Geneva of Kinder, William “Bill” G. Fontenot of Kinder, Eddie L. Fontenot and wife Carol of Oberlin, Sandra “Sandy” LeJeune of Roanke, C. Douglas and wife Natalie of Welsh, Karen Courville and husband Gerald of Kinder; 146 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Ms. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Attlie Fontenot; parents, Columbus and Alice Langley; daughter-in-law, Maxine Fontenot; son-in-law, Al LeJeune; 6 siblings.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday at Reed Funeral Home from 3PM-9PM with a vigil service at 6PM and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Monday at 8AM until time of service.
