Kinder- Alvin Savant, 74, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018. He was a resident of Kinder. Alvin will be remembered by talking and visiting with people in town and riding his bicycle. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and he enjoyed attending any and all church services where he enjoyed singing and praying. Alvin will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by one brother, Luther J. Savant and wife Gloria of Kinder; four sisters, Vivian B. Bourque of Scott, Elda Manuel of Oberlin, Linda Savant Whitaker and husband Danny of Kinder, Cathy Savant Fontenot of Baton Rouge; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great –great nieces and nephews.

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, William J. Savant and Gladys Fontenot Savant.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2PM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Carol Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday at 9AM until time of service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kinder Retirement for taking great care of Alvin, Dr. Alex Courville, the staff and nurses of Allen Parish Hospital, and Brighton Bridge Hospice.
