June Weideman Young

Elton- June Weideman Young, born September 24, 1955, passed from her earthly life into her Heavenly life, Monday, September 10, 2018, after a long hard battle with R.A. at her home surrounded by her precious family.

June worked for American Legion Hospital for over 20 years. She loved any kind of hand work, reading, and gardening. June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed.

June was a native of Basile until November 23, 1974 when she married the love of her life, Robert “Bobby” Young and moved to Elton to live happily ever after. Of this beautiful union of 44 years came daughter, Mandy Young Edwards and husband Lance of Kinder and son, Robbie Young and wife Desiree of Elton; three grandchildren, Evan Cain Edwards, Chase Paul Young, and Jolene Grace Young; brother, Glenn Weideman of Eunice; twin sister, Joan Weideman Fruge and husband Clifford of Oberlin; in-laws, Paul and Myrna Young of Elton; sister-in-law, Janet Young Miller and husband Leven of Elton; brother-in-law, Harold Shuff Jr. and wife Ann of Elton; a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Francis Weideman and Elise Guidry Weideman;

Memorial service will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 3PM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Deacon Michael Guillory will officiate. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
