Westlake- Mr. Douglas P. Lafargue, 70, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Kinder and a resident of Westlake.

Doug was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake. He graduated from Kinder High School and retired from PPG.  Doug was a Navy veteran. He enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his family. Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Vonita Barzare Lafargue; two children, Casey Lafargue and wife Mary of Lake Charles, Kelly Lafargue  of Austin, TX; three brothers, Walter Lafargue of Kinder, Michael Lafargue of Kinder and Clifford David Lafargue of Kinder; three grandchildren, Bryce Lafargue, Brayden Lafargue, and Landon Lafargue.

Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Betty Lafargue and his sister, Tina Marie Fontenot.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10AM at Reed Funeral Home. Deacon Roy Nash will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Green Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder from 4PM-9PM with a rosary at 6PM. Visitation will continue Saturday at 8AM until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Fast, Charles Jackson, Emette  Barzare, John Barzare, David Lafargue, Kevin Lafargue, and Clifton Bushnell . Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce, Brayden, and Landon Lafargue.
