Kinder- Brenda Ann Ortego, 67, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Kinder. Brenda was devoted to her Catholic faith and she was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Robert L. “Bobby” Ortego Sr., four children, Robert L. Ortego Jr., native of Kinder and a resident of Reeves, Edward Brian Ortego of Kinder, Charles Wayne Ortego of Kinder, and Amanda Angelle Ortego of Kinder; two brothers, Kenneth Bellon of Kinder and Michael Bellon of Elton; seven grandchildren, Robert L. Ortego 3rd, Tiffany Michelle Ortego, Victoria Lynn Marshburn, Katherine JoAnna Nicole Rossell, Ashton Alyss Lillard, Sarabeth Tucker Ortego, and Dereck Ortego; three great grandchildren, Damon Rossell, Ryland Rossell, and Jack Marshburn.

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 9:30AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Monsignor Ronald Groth will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday at Reed Funeral Home from 4PM-9PM with a Vigil service at 6PM and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Thursday at 8AM until time of service.
