Kinder- Mr. Frank J. “Black” Savant Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Houston, TX. Black was a native of Kinder and a resident of Houston. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked for Arco Refinery for many years. He installed the glass for the tallest building in downtown Houston. Black always had a smile on his face and loved making jokes and telling stories. He enjoyed dancing to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and many other artist. He loved visiting with his friends and loved spending time with his family. Black loved to resale items and give back to the community. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Black was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include three loving daughter, Crisilda Santiago, Ramanda “Mandy” Savant, and Mechelle Russell; brother, Greg G. Savant; five grandchildren; Rachel, Candice, Ashley, Cameron, and Jordan; five great grandchildren, Payton, Jacob, Tayden, Saline, and Camdyn.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Savant; daughter, Felisha Savant and grandson, Clinton Michael “Bubba” Savant.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11AM at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in LeFranc Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday at Indian Village Pentecostal Church at 8AM until time of service. A meal will be served at Reed Funeral Home following the burial.
