Kinder- Darcy Jemison, 89, of Kinder passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She was a native of Oberlin and resident of Kinder. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters – Grand Regent for one year. Ms. Darcy had been a Cub Scout Den Mother and was an Honorary Board Member of Kinder Cemetery Association. She loved her children & provided them with adventures still remembered.

She is survived by her four children, Janis Jemison of Kinder, Lynn Jemison LeBoeuf and husband Joseph of Sulphur, Randy Jemison and wife Marietta of Kinder, and Ralph Jemison of Lake Charles; granddaughters, Cassie Jemison Griffin married to Robert Griffin great granddaughters (Madison Griffin and Chloe Griffin), Meagan Jemison Blanchard, married to Todd Blanchard,( great-grandsons Bennett Blanchard and Camden Blanchard), Angela Bourque Gilleland (great-grandsons Sael and Calliou Gilleland), Theresa Bourque – great grandchildren (Samuel Mire and Caitlyn Mire), one grandson, David Ross Jemison married to Melainie Crisp Jemison (great granddaughter, Mya Rae Jemison); one brother, Mr. Ray Fontenot and wife Emily of Iowa,  La.  

Proceeded in death by her husband, Fredrick E. Jemison; parents, Tanzy E. Fontenot and Rosa Fontenot and grandson, Fredrick A. Jemison; two brothers, Mr. Roger Lee Fontenot and Mr John Fontenot.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Kinder. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home from 4 PM to 9 PM with a vigil service at 6 PM and a rosary will follow.  Visitation will continue Monday from 8AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to masses or St. Philip Neri Graduate Awards Program, P.O. Box 146 Kinder, La. 70648.
