Obituary of John Gilley

John David Gilley February 4, 1955 January 16, 2013 Reeves- An angel on earth, John David Gilley, 57, left us to take his place as a heavenly angel on January 16, 2013. He is survived by two brothers, Gene Gilley and wife Helen, Donnie Gilley and wife Renee, and one sister, Juanita Jackson and husband George, all of Reeves. He is preceded in heaven by his parents, Will and Azzalee Gilley and sister, Bonnie Bradley. John had 9 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews who adored their "uncle John" because he loved them as if they were his own. John was loved by all who knew him and was known to have a giving and loving heart. He was employed at Atterbery Truck Sales for 30 years where he began as a diesel mechanic and later a shop supervisor. John enjoyed playing golf, was a football fan, and an avid Nascar fan. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2PM at LeBlanc Pentecostal Church. Reverends Terry Bushnell and Alfred Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBlanc Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Reed Funeral Home in Kinder Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 3PM-10PM and will continue Friday at LeBlanc Pentecostal Church from 10AM until time of service.
