Kinder- Mr. John Bernard Fontenot, 73, passed away November 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was raised in Oberlin, Louisiana and was a resident of Reeves. Bernard liked to raise cattle, travel, and spend time with family. He was also a big fan of swamp pop music. Bernard was a devoted follower of the Roman Catholic Church and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his six children, Lawrence Fontenot and wife Donna of Reeves, Jackie Storer and husband Bill of Oberlin, Leisha Courville and husband Paul of Kinder, Germaine Fontenot of Kinder, Sullivan Fontenot and  wife Mandy of Reeves, Benji  Fontenot and wife Christie of Hinton, OK and companion, Jo Spain of Kinder; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Felecia Fontenot and his brother J.D. Francois.
Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, November 10, 2017 at 12PM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Father Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Oberlin Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4PM-9PM with a rosary 6PM. Visitation will continue Friday at Reed Funeral Home from 8AM-11AM.
