Kinder- Ellen Louise Matthews, 66, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native and lifelong resident of Kinder. Ms. Ellen had a strong faith in the Lord. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her five children, Monica Manuel of Kinder. Melissa Manuel Marcantel and husband Raymond of Kinder, Johnette Matthews of Madisonville, TX, John Matthews Jr. and wife Kristy of Circleville, Ohio, Joshua Matthews of Kinder; Companion, Albert Hardesty of Kinder; brother, Charles Langley and wife and caretaker of Ms. Ellen, Elsie of Kinder; four grandchildren, Craig, Westley, Alyssa, and Katie; several great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Matthews Sr.
Funeral service will be Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10AM at Reed Funeral Home. Rev. Alfred Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday at 3PM and will remain open all night until time of service.
