Kinder- Ms. Katherine Chapman, 80, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She raised her family in Kinder and was a resident of Crowley at the time of her death. Ms. Katherine was a former member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Crowley. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Katherine was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her six children, Roxana Chaisson of Kinder, Sharon Real of Crowley, Deborah Spell of Crowley, James Chapman of Kinder, Julie Brooks and husband Bobby of Oakdale, Tina LeBlanc and husband Kent of Oberlin; 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her two husbands, Riley Jean Guidry and Joe Chapman; parents, John E. Young and Julia Billodeaux Young; son, Randall Lee Guidry; 8 brothers and 1 sister.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home from 12PM-10PM with a vigil service at 6:30 and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Wednesday at 8AM until time of service.
