Oberlin- Cecilia Marie Sonnier, 68, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Oberlin.
Cele was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 21 year, Doug Sonnier of Oberlin; two sons, Roger Dale Baggett and wife Tina of Hockley, TX and Joey Baggett and wife Kay of Florence, S.C.; two step-daughters, Bridgett Rider and husband Troy of Oberlin and Melody Sonnier and companion Mark Manuel of Oberlin; four sisters, Brenda Gray of Dry Creek, Wanda Vizena of Oberlin, Irma Prudhomme of Oberlin, and Donna Hamilton of Baton Rouge; 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her son, Richard Baggett; step-son, Brady Sonnier; parents, Cecil and Marie Young.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2PM at Oberlin Baptist Church. Rev. John Nicholas will officiate. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Mittie. Visitation will begin Friday at Oberlin Baptist Church from 5PM-10PM and will continue Saturday at 8AM until time of service.
