Kinder- Mr. Lenward Paul Vizena, 68, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and resident of Kinder.
 Mr. Lenward was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was retired from Turner Industries and a member of Iron Workers’ Local 678. Mr. Lenward was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and friends.  Mr. Lenward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. His great story telling will be especially missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 23 years, Brenda L. Vizena; two loving daughters, Yvonne Vizena Doise and Fiance’ Nicky Moreau of Eunice and Sherry Fournet and husband Douglas of Lake Charles; two step-daughters, Therisa Manuel of Basile and Regina Thomas and husband Randy of Grand Lake; brother, L.D. Vizena and wife Delores of Kinder; four sisters, Loretta Istre, Betty Ann Marcantel, Bea Dodd, and Essie Maricle and husband Dwaine all of Kinder; five grandchildren, Christine Doise Massey, Kevin Doise II, Elizabeth Doise, Michael Fournet, and Brett Fournet; three step-grandchildren, Christopher Manuel, Khristain Johnson, and Kaylee Thomas; four great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Avenant and Valentine Vizena; siblings, Priscilla Cormier and Floyd Vizena.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder from3PM-9PM with a vigil service at 6PM and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Saturday at 8AM until time of service.
