Kinder- Mr. James Sherwin Duplichan "Spark", 66, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was a native and a lifelong resident of Kinder. Mr. Duplichan retired from Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he loved the outdoors. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Betty Sue Duplichan; mother, Gladys Duplichan of Kinder; two sons, Craig Duplichan and fiancé, Dolly Perrodin of Crowley, James Sherwin Duplichan "Bud" of Kinder; two daughters, Missy Duplichan Kanehl and husband Casey of Rincon, GA, Ashley Duplichan of Kinder; brother, Reginald Duplichan and wife Debbie of Kinder; three sisters, Gwen Saucier and husband Eddie of Kinder, Cindy Welch and husband Chuck of Kinder, Jennifer Marcantel and husband Leonard of Orange, TX; 8 grandchildren, Casey Kanehl "Pooh", Greg Kanehl "Rooh", Meagan Austin, Heather Duplichan, Mykel Broussard "Toot", Zoey Broussard, Ryeleigh Broussard, Kory J. Duplichan "J-Bird".
Preceded in death by his father, Fred Duplichan and two grandchildren, Chastity Kelly and Michael James Kanehl.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10AM Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will be continued Sunday from 2PM-10PM with a Vigil service at 6PM and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Monday from 8AM until time of service.
