Obituary of Joseph Huey Romero

Joseph “Joey” Huey Romero Jr. July 18, 1953 November 29, 2016 Kinder- Joseph “Joey” Huey Romero Jr. ,63, passed away Tuesday November 29, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of Kinder. Joey Retired from the Boilermaker Union after 41 years of service. He enjoyed to hunt and fish. Joey loved life, never met a stranger and that is why he had so many friends. Since retiring, he enjoyed spending more time with his loving wife. Joey was a faithful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and uncle. He loved his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all. Joey is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Beverly Romero; three children, Shawna Romero of Lafayette, Kasey Romero of Kinder, Brandy Manuel and husband Eric of Kinder; brother, Felix Romero and wife Kay of Kinder; six sisters, Loretta Young and husband Richard of DeRidder, Pat Bruno and husband Fred of Moss Bluff, Angela Robinson and husband Robert of Colorado, Christine Bruce and husband Karl of Moss Bluff, Mary Romero of Colorado, and Lisa Romero of California; seven grandchildren; Logan, Bradley, Tyler, Colin, Spencer, Ava, Caegen; one great granddaughter, Kennedy. Preceded in death by his parents, Rome and Esther Romero. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow Carter Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday at Reed Funeral Home from 2PM-10PM with a Vigil service at 6PM and a Rosary will follow.
