Obituary of James Wylie Richard

James “Wylie” Richard December 9, 1934 June 11, 2016 Kinder- Mr. James “Wylie” Richard, 81, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 surrounded by his family. Mr. Wylie was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was very proud to be a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Warden council number 2893 and Monsignor Cramer council number 320. Mr. Wylie was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He will be missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Una Belle Savant Richard; five children, James Vernon Richard of Kinder, Charlotte Yvette Higgins and husband John Jr. of Iowa, Angela Maria Willis and husband Rickie of Kinder, Thomas Christopher Richard and wife Sybil of Kinder, Carla Veronica Watson and husband Edward of Vidor, TX; sister, Edrie L. Guillory of Kinder; two brothers, C. Wayne Richard and wife Marlene of Delcambre, D. Michael Richard and wife Bonnie of Elton; 11 grandchildren ; 17 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandchild, Cody. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, June 13, 2016 at Reed Funeral Home from 4:30PM-9PM with a vigil at 6PM and a rosary will follow.
