Obituary of Berchman Fontenot

Kinder- Mr. Berchman "Burk" Fontenot, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was a resident of Kinder. Burk was an Electrician for several years in Kinder and the surrounding area. He loved cooking for friends and family, butchering, and music. He is survived by his two children, Gary Fontenot and wife Nelda of Kinder, Marsha Fontenot of Kinder; two brothers, Rodney Fontenot of Kinder and Bradley Fontenot of Lake Charles; one sister, Mable Montou of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Rocky Fontenot, Kimberlyh Fontenot, Heather Manuel, and Laura Fontenot; four great grandchildren, Krislyn, Emily, Keili, and Maeli. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Rena Fontenot; son, Russell Fontenot and his grandson, Logan Vidrine. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 7PM at Reed Funeral Home. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. A rosary will be prayed Thursday at 6:30PM. Visitation will be Thursday from 10AM-10PM. Cremation is entrusted to Reed Funeral Home.
