Kinder- Mr. John James Spears Sr., 66, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and lifelong resident of Kinder. John enjoyed driving trucks and he loved to fish. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Spears; four children, James Clark Spears, Melissa Fontenot and husband Charles of Kinder, Margaret Humphries and husband Michael of Kinder, John Spears and companion Bobbi Jo of Kinder; six brothers, Jesse Spears of Kinder, Dan Spears of Kinder, Richard Spears of Kinder, Gerald Spears of Kinder, Leon Spears of Longville, and Paul Spears of Kinder; three grandchildren, Lucas, Marcus, and Gauge.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Catherine Spears; 3 siblings, Donald Wayne Spears, Mary Burgess, and William Spears.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10AM at Reed Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. T.L. Smith and Rev. Rod Nesmith will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday from 2PM-9PM and will continue Thursday at 8AM until time of service.
